Report: Former UGLY KID JOE Guitarist Played 'Key Role' In Success Of EVANESCENCE

Keith Spera of Nola.com reports that after achieving a measure of MTV success in the early 1990s as the guitarist in the hard rock band UGLY KID JOE, Dave Fortman returned to Mandeville, Lousiana and hung out his shingle as a record producer. He spent years toiling away on small-budget, independent albums for local bands. Then one of those bands, 12 STONES, hit the big time, scoring a million-dollar deal with Wind-up Records partly on the basis of a demo recorded with Fortman.

Now Fortman is in the middle of a two-month, big-budget recording session for 12 STONES' second Wind-up album at Balance Studios.

Fortman and McCoy played key roles in the runaway success of EVANESCENCE, a two-time Grammy winner. Fortma produced the EVANESCENCE album "Fallen" and McCoy guest stars on that album's hit single, "Bring Me to Life". [Read more]
